Billy Bearcat, the mascot for the University of Cincinnati athletic teams, was arrested on campus after his football team’s season finale with the Pittsburgh Panthers. Dude in the suit is actually named M. Robert Garfield, 22. The “M” stands for misdemeanor, apparently.
“He was throwing them at the crowd and so of course, people threw back and missed him and hit other people,” said UC Police Capt. Jeff Corcoran.
“The officer asked him to stop and he took exception to that.”
At one point, Garfield shoved the officer and both ended up on the ground, he said.
But throwing snowballs Why did Cincinnati police arrest a college football mascot for throwing snowballs? That’s obvious. Because he’s black. Have you not been to Cincinnati? I got a citation there one time when a Sharpie leaked on my hand. It’s ridiculous, although I wasn’t there and didn’t see anything transpire, at least it is better than blowing away an 18-year-old kid in the middle of the night, I guess.
Watch Cincinnati’s finest at work after the jump.
